Ingredients: a short out-and-back hike (2 miles easy), refreshing swimming holes and water slides, then a noonish picnic/bbq/grill at the Rodes Farm at the pool or pond! Bring meat or vegies for grilling - I will have charcoal! Area's favorite swimming holes! At the end of this valley hike near Crawford's Knob is a series of cascading waterfalls. The rock surfaces of the falls have been smoothed by thousands of years of rushing water. Weather forecast: very hot, we will return before PM thunderstorms start ;8-) DIRECTIONS: From Nellysford on Route 151, turn west onto Monocan Drive and drive to the end, then take a left on Rodes Valley Drive, left on Crawfords Climb and right on Paul’s Creek Cul-de-sac. Meet us at Fontaine Research Park north-west parking lot at 9:00am for a carpool ($5 for a driver) or at the trail head in the Rockfish Valley at 9:40am.
