Proposed Itinerary is: Trinity Episcopal Church - Court House & Barrister's Row - C & O Train Station, American Hotel & The Wharf - Black Friar's Shakespearean Theater - Woodrow Wilson Birthplace & Library - Gospel Hill's beautiful homes - Mary Baldwin College & Staunton Military Academy - Thornrose Cemetery & Confederate Memorial atop unknown's mass grave.
You should also check out Historic Beverly Street shops, restaurants and galleries, Antique Auto Showroom, Sun Spots glass art, jewelry showroom & glass blowing, Frontier Culture Museum, open until 5:00pm.
Start your walk from the Staunton Visitor Center - 35 S. New Street. Just past the front door, turn right into the parking garage. (There is no attendant, so be sure to bring 50 cents change to exit.)
Remember to bring sufficient water, snacks or picnic lunch; or plan to dine in one of many good restaurants. Wear comfortable, supportive shoes, as walking on concrete, up and down hills, can be tiring.
